Kemkomdigi: AITF serves as a platform to foster AI innovation for public schools and social assistance
The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) has stated that the third workshop of the Artificial Intelligence Talent Factory (AITF) Batch 2 serves as a platform for generating artificial intelligence innovations that impact the implementation of public school programmes and social assistance (bansos).
Speaking at the AITF Batch 2 Workshop 3 at the Algoritma Building, Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawintaya, Malang, East Java, the Head of the Digital Talent Development Centre at Kemkomdigi, Said Mirza Pahlevi, noted that AITF participants are designing AI systems to support the development of public school learning and the precision of government social assistance recipients.
“Specifically at Universitas Brawijaya, participants are completing very important use cases related to public school learning and social assistance systems,” said Said. He added that the innovation of using AI for these two programmes was presented as a primary challenge within the AITF, representing a collaborative effort between the ministry and universities to strengthen public services. “These use cases (public schools and social assistance) are highly anticipated,” he remarked.
The Workshop 3 AITF Batch 2, held at Universitas Brawijaya, took place over two days, from 8–9 June 2026. Following this stage, a ‘demo day’ is scheduled to take place on 29–30 June 2026.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of AITF and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya, Sabriansyah Rizqika Akbar, stated that the demo day stage will serve as a platform to prove the excellence of the innovations developed by AITF participants. “Our students are given the opportunity to work on various case studies that present significant challenges through AITF,” he said. To ensure the innovation refinement process remains directed and on schedule, the committee is providing additional mentoring to participants, which may include a quarantine scheme. Furthermore, the AITF programme at Universitas Brawijaya is being converted into 12 academic credits (SKS).
