The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) continues efforts to accelerate rehabilitation and reconstruction following flood disasters in Aceh Province, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. After previously distributing compensation for fatalities and serious injuries, Kemensos, in cooperation with PT POS Indonesia, has begun distributing other adaptive assistance such as home completion assistance, the Social-Economic Stimulus Aid (BSSE), and livelihood support (Jadup). “Now we are in the process of distributing home completion assistance and Social-Economic Stimulus Aid. The home completion assistance amounts to Rp3 million per family, while the BSSE amounts to Rp5 million per family,” said the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos), Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul), in a statement on Friday, 6 March 2026. He made the remarks at a press conference after a meeting with the Acting President Director of PT POS Indonesia, Haris, at the Kemensos Office in Jakarta, on Thursday (5/3). According to data from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the number of Beneficiary Families or KPM that have been verified and will receive home completion assistance and BSSE totals 67,886 KPM, with an overall budget requirement of more than Rp543 billion. “As you know, the data is processed from the bottom up. BNPB provides the data first, then it is determined by the regent/mayor, which already includes the BNBA, then signed by the Police Chief and the State Prosecutor, before being verified by the Minister of Home Affairs. After that, it becomes final data to guide our disbursement. In this distribution process, we have tasked PT POS Indonesia,” he explained. Meanwhile, the value of livelihood support is Rp450 thousand per person per month for three months. The data verified for Jadup recipients totals 248,588 beneficiaries (PM) with a total budget requirement of more than Rp335 billion. In the first phase, PT POS Indonesia distributed home completion assistance and BSSE to 38,070 KPM and Jadup to 143,496 PM in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. “This is roughly how it looks, because the disbursement is expected to be fast but also targeted, prudent, and accountable. Therefore we thank the local governments for sending the data well,” he said. At the same venue, Haris explained that by Thursday (5/3), PT POS had already distributed home completion assistance and BSSE to about 17,000 KPM or more than 26 percent. The figure will continue to grow and be completed before Eid al-Fitr. “In a few more days, as the Minister said earlier, from 67 thousand beneficiary families, we target that by the 15th everything will be completed. Therefore, we hope that before Eid al-Fitr, all of our brothers and sisters have received their rights, including home completion assistance and Social-Economic Stimulus Aid,” Haris said. Further, Haris also said PT POS will soon distribute livelihood support. With the support of Post Office branches spread across various regions, Haris hopes recipients will receive their entitlements soon. “Our hope is that, with the spread of our offices, even if recipients might not be at their location due to Eid preparations, they can simply contact or visit our Post Office; our staff there will coordinate with the Central Task Force, to possibly pay at the place where they celebrate Idul Fitri,” he added. Haris explained the distribution process would involve Post Offices in the three provinces, through three channels: paid at the Post Office, in the Community (Desa/Kelurahan offices, etc.), and direct delivery, especially to elderly recipients or those who are ill. “We have carried out the distribution over the last three days, involving our Post Offices. Our network in these three provinces comprises around 454 offices,” he concluded. Also attending the meeting were Kemensos Secretary-General Robben Rico, Director General for Social Empowerment Mira Riyati Kurniasih, PT POS Indonesia EVP Government and Corporate Business Hendra Sari, PT POS Indonesia VP of Fund Disbursement Andi Rosa, and other stakeholders.
