Kemenko PM monitors and evaluates implementation of SRMA 22 Malang
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Coordinating for Community Empowerment (Kemenko PM) is carrying out monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Atas (SRMA) 22 in Malang, East Java.
Deputy for Coordinating Community Empowerment in Villages, Underdeveloped Areas, and Specific Regions of Kemenko PM, Abdul Haris, in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday, explained that the monitoring and evaluation are being conducted to follow up on Presidential Instruction No. 8 of 2025.
The instruction regulates the optimisation of poverty alleviation and the eradication of extreme poverty.
In addition, he explained that the field visit is an effort by Kemenko PM to strengthen its role in coordinating the implementation of the Sekolah Rakyat Programme as one of the main national strategies.
He explained that Sekolah Rakyat is a strategic government initiative to provide free and quality education access, particularly for children from poor and extremely poor families.
Furthermore, he stated that the programme is expected to serve as an effective instrument in breaking the chain of poverty and sustainably improving human resource quality.
“We believe that education is the main key in eradicating extreme poverty. Through the Sekolah Rakyat programme, we are optimistic that we can accelerate the breaking of the poverty cycle, which has long been a major challenge for the nation,” he said.
Meanwhile, he stated that Kemenko PM is paying attention to the number of students at SRMA 22 Malang, which initially had 75 students and is now recorded as 69 active students.
“This is one of the aspects that is also a focus in the monitoring and evaluation process to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the programme,” he said.
