Kemenhaj: 100,268 Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims have completed dam
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) says that 100,268 Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims have completed the dam requirements through various schemes. Of this total, 71,262 paid the dam through the ADAHI programme in Saudi Arabia, 26,901 completed the dam in Indonesia, and 2,105 carried out the dam by fasting. In addition, 821 pilgrims chose the ifrad scheme, meaning they are not subject to the dam tamattu’ obligation.
Kemenhaj spokesperson Ichsan Marsha said the government respects the diversity of fiqh views on the implementation of dam. Accordingly, Kemenhaj provides space for prospective Hajj pilgrims to exercise their choices according to their fiqh beliefs, whether through execution at home, payment via the official Saudi pathway, or fasting for those who meet the conditions.
“Kemenhaj respects the diversity of fiqh opinions in the implementation of dam. The government provides broad space for prospective Hajj pilgrims to enact their fiqh beliefs, while ensuring the implementation proceeds in an orderly, safe, and accountable manner,” Ichsan said in Mecca on Wednesday.
“The data gathering on the dam for Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims this year has been appreciated by the Government of Saudi Arabia. This serves as a motivation for us to continue strengthening the governance of Hajj services, including aspects of worship directly related to the needs of prospective Hajj pilgrims,” Ichsan added.
Kemenhaj also urged prospective Hajj pilgrims to beware of parties offering dam payments outside the official channels, especially if there is no clear mechanism, payment proof, or certainty of implementation.
“Our pilgrims are advised not to be easily swayed by dam payment offers that lack clarity. If in doubt, consult with the kloter staff, worship mentors, or Indonesian Hajj officers in their respective sectors,” Ichsan said.
In addition to dam management, Kemenhaj provided the latest update on the organisation of Hajj for 1447 AH / 2026 CE. By day 30 of the operational period, 498 kloter groups with 192,185 prospective Hajj pilgrims and 1,984 officials had been dispatched to Saudi Arabia.
For the arrival of the second cohort of prospective Hajj pilgrims at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, 224 kloter groups with 85,618 prospective pilgrims and 893 officials had arrived. Meanwhile, 487 kloter groups with 188,259 prospective Hajj pilgrims and 1,984 officials were in Mecca.
The number of special pilgrims who had arrived in the Holy Land stood at 14,513 prospective Hajj pilgrims.
“Generally, Indonesian Hajj services are proceeding smoothly. The government continues to ensure all service aspects, from arrival, accommodation, meals, transportation, health, worship guidance, to the protection of prospective Hajj pilgrims, run optimally,” said Ichsan.
“Do not hesitate to seek help from officers. Indonesian Hajj staff are present to accompany, serve, and protect prospective Hajj pilgrims during their worship in the Holy Land,” added Ichsan.
Kemenhaj also invites Indonesians to continue praying for the smooth conduct of all Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims’ worship.
“May Allah SWT grant ease, protection, health, and blessings to all His guests, and make their Hajj mabrur and mabruroh,” Ichsan said.
