Kemenekraf Turns DWP Creative Bazaar into a Showcase for Local Products
Jakarta – The Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf), through Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Kemenekraf, staged a creative bazaar as an exhibition for local products created by Indonesian creative economy practitioners. The bazaar, held in conjunction with social service activities, is believed to strengthen ties and empower MSMEs within the ministry’s environment. ‘This bazaar is a tangible showcase of our local products. In Ramadan 1447 AH, a bazar with strict MSME curatorship proves that our local products have risen to a higher level. I commend DWP for blending entrepreneurship with social concern. This is the face of our creative economy: inclusive and full of empathy,’ said Deputy Minister Irene Umar in a statement in Jakarta on Friday. The bazaar, held at the Gedung Film Pesona Indonesia, Jakarta, was viewed by the Deputy Minister as an initiative to strengthen the role of local creative actors in accelerating the growth of the creative economy as a driver of new economic activity for Indonesia. Irene also expressed optimism about the quality of the products displayed at the DWP Kemenekraf bazaar. According to her, technology adaptation and contemporary design have become the main strengths of today’s creative MSMEs. ‘The creativity I see today shows that our MSMEs are ready to move up a level. Hopefully this activity will bring real economic impact for the creative actors and blessings for the recipients of the social service programme,’ she said. In addition to inspecting the bazaar, Wakil Menteri Irene briefly spoke with business people about digital marketing challenges and product distribution. She emphasised that the ministry will continue to facilitate the needs of MSMEs so that their products are not only known within the ministry’s internal circle but can also reach broader markets. Siti Nurjanah Cecep Rukendi, Head of the DWP Kemenekraf, said the bazaar was attended by 24 tenants showcasing flagship products, spanning culinary, fashion, and crafts. She hopes the activity will serve as an effective promotional platform while encouraging entrepreneurs to produce competitive products. ‘Through this bazaar, we facilitate 24 selected tenants to provide space for creative entrepreneurs while also presenting investment services to create a balance between the productive sector and financial planning for all creative businesspeople,’ she said. Through this activity, DWP Kemenekraf continues to promote a supportive ecosystem for creative economy actors, while strengthening social solidarity as the foundation of sustainable national economic development.
