The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has moved swiftly to respond to reports regarding the condition of SDN Tanggirejo in Grobogan Regency, Central Java Province, which has suffered severe damage.

Director General of Early Childhood, Non-Formal, and Informal Education at Kemendikdasmen, Gogot Suharwoto, confirmed in Jakarta on Friday that the school will be revitalised through a ministry programme in the 2026 fiscal year.

‘We are currently continuing to coordinate with various parties, from the headteacher and the local education office to the Central Java Education Quality Assurance Centre, to immediately revitalise the school. In the near future, we will also invite the Head of SDN Tanggirejo to Jakarta to sign a Cooperation Agreement for the revitalisation,’ said Gogot.

He explained that the Educational Unit Revitalisation Programme is one of the ministry’s priorities in realising quality education for all. This year, the programme is focused on three main priorities: schools affected by disasters, schools in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions, and schools with severe damage.

‘SDN Tanggirejo is one of the schools included in the three main priorities for the revitalisation programme. We hope that the improvement of facilities and infrastructure will not only change the physical condition of the school building but also boost students’ enthusiasm for learning and encourage an improvement in the quality of education,’ Gogot stated.
