Kemendes: Sideka-NG helps villages communicate development potential and needs

The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT) has stated that the New Generation Village and Regional Information System (Sideka-NG) can serve as a means for villages to openly communicate their conditions, potential, programmes, and development needs.

“Villages can also convey their conditions, potential, programmes, and development needs openly, while strengthening communication and coordination between village governments, regional governments, the central government, and various development partners,” said Dimposma Sihombing, Director of Social, Cultural and Institutional Development Harmonisation at Kemendes PDT.

He made the statement while opening a technical guidance activity on the creation of Sideka-NG through village information system collaboration in disadvantaged regions, which was attended online from Jakarta on Monday.

It is hoped that village development can therefore become more optimal. Dimposma further said that the use of information technology is becoming increasingly important amid the development of digital transformation, especially in strengthening governance, public services, and village development.

According to him, Sideka-NG can not only serve as a medium for conveying village information, but also become part of a connected and collaborative village information system. The use of such information systems, he said, can play a strategic role for villages and disadvantaged regions that still face challenges in access to information, technology, and human resource capacity.

Through good information management, Dimposma said villages have great potential to obtain the various development needs they require.

Kemendes PDT is also encouraging the future use of Sideka-NG to further support information openness, transparency, data utilisation, and to open wider space for collaboration in village development.

Sideka-NG is a platform that is expected to become part of a connected and collaborative village information system. Through the platform, villages can convey various information about themselves and strengthen communication and coordination with regional governments, the central government, and various development partners.
