The Ministry of Religious Affairs’ (Kemenag) In-Service Teacher Professional Education programme (PPG Daljab) is intended for teachers who do not yet hold an educator certificate. Before joining the programme, teachers need to understand the required period of teaching experience and the length of the training.

Minimum teaching experience for Kemenag PPG Daljab

The official Kemenag PPG portal says that the In-Service programme is designed for teachers who have taught for at least one year. However, to determine whether they are eligible, teachers must also take into account the participant requirements set by the ministry.

Additional criteria listed on the portal state that participants must have been appointed no later than 30 June 2023 and recorded as active in the 2023/2024 academic year. These requirements provide specific eligibility benchmarks, alongside other conditions.

The one-year minimum teaching period should be considered together with the appointment-date and active-teacher requirements. One year of teaching alone is not enough to establish whether someone qualifies for Kemenag’s PPG Daljab.

Duration of Kemenag PPG Daljab

The duration of Kemenag’s PPG Daljab depends on the programme format. The Transformation In-Service PPG held in 2025 lasted 45 days.

The West Sulawesi Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs reported this when announcing the implementation of Batch 1 of the 2025 Transformation In-Service PPG. Under this format, the study load comprised 27 credits recognised through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and nine credits of instruction.

The programme included in-depth study, learning, induction and competency testing. The transformation format was designed around self-directed learning through an online learning system, with support from mentors.

The 45-day duration refers to the 2025 Transformation In-Service PPG. It should not therefore be assumed to be a fixed duration for every cohort or for Kemenag’s PPG Daljab in subsequent years.
