Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) has stated that the distribution of the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) programme this year will officially use the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) to make it more targeted.

“This year, we will already be using DTSEN, where DTSEN combines three data sources. So the hope, as mentioned at the beginning, is that our distribution will be more on target,” said Acting Head of the Centre for Higher Education Financing and Assessment (PPAPT) at Kemdiktisaintek, Sandro Mihradi, during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Sandro explained that in previous years, the basis for determining KIP Kuliah recipients still referred to the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) and the Targeting Data for Accelerating the Eradication of Extreme Poverty (P3KE).

“Here, we will prioritise, of course, those in the community in Deciles 1 and 4, that is, from the very poor to the vulnerable poor range,” he said.

To meet the criteria and be designated as prospective recipients, he said, registrants must first pass the university entrance selection within the scope of Kemdiktisaintek and be recorded in DTSEN in Deciles 1 to 4.

Furthermore, that status will only be upgraded to official KIP Kuliah recipient after the student completes the re-registration process at the relevant university and passes the verification and validation stage of the registration documents.

It is known that, based on data from the SNPMB Committee, the number of participants declared to have passed the 2026 SNBP Pathway Selection based on the selection results conducted by each State University (PTN) Rector is 155,543 participants, with an acceptance percentage of 20.09%. Of the number of participants declared to have passed, 53,897 (19.67%) are KIP Kuliah applicants.

Meanwhile, for Vocational State Universities (PTN Vokasi), the number of participants declared to have passed the 2026 SNBP Pathway Selection based on the selection results conducted by each Vocational PTN Director is 23,438 participants, with an acceptance percentage of 30.34%. Of the number of participants declared to have passed, 10,574 (31.97%) are KIP Kuliah applicants.
