Kemdiktisaintek: Do Not Rush to Transform into PTNBH
Makassar (ANTARA) - Special Staff of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), Ismail Hasani, has reminded universities not to rush into transforming into Public Service Agency Universities (PTNBH) if they lack readiness in human resources (HR). Speaking in Makassar on Monday, Ismail Hasani said that becoming a university with PTNBH status is indeed the dream and obsession of every campus. “University autonomy is indeed tempting, isn’t it, Mr Rector? I believe all of you are exceptional, but if the ability to organise and orchestrate all the resources available on campus does not work, then PTNBH might also throw up its hands,” he stated in front of the rectors present at the inauguration of Unhas Rector Prof Dr Jamaluddin Jompa in Makassar. He explained that the educational autonomy through PTNBH, which has become an obsession for many campuses, is actually not the only way to advance the campus. On the contrary, with other types or forms of higher education institutions, such as those in the form of Public Service Bodies (BLU), it is believed that those transformation conveniences can also be achieved. “So, I remind you not to rush into transforming into PTNBH if our strength is indeed not yet sufficient,” he said.
