A blaze engulfing a densely populated residential area in Pasar Jiung, Kebon Kosong, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, was contained overnight on Monday (1 June 2026). Preliminary reports indicate the fire originated from an electrical short circuit in a house in RT 14, RW 04. Central Jakarta Fire Department data shows around 300 households and 500 people were affected, with eight residents taken to Hermina Hospital for smoke inhalation.
