Kelingking Beach Glass Lift Project Not Yet Dismantled, Here's Why
The glass lift project at Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, Klungkung, Bali, has not yet been dismantled in accordance with instructions from Bali Governor Wayan Koster. The developer has been given six months from November 2025 to dismantle the project structure.
Head of the Bali Provincial Secretariat’s Legal Bureau, Ngurah Satria Wardana, explained that the project is under status quo or in dispute according to legal rules.
“This means that while it is in dispute, nothing can be done until there is a court decision that has final legal force, which is enforceable,” said Satria when confirmed on Wednesday (15/4/2026).
Satria added that the instruction does not apply when there is a legal effort by one party seeking justice. Legally, this is permitted.
“If, for example, the provincial government loses or vice versa, whatever the decision is, it will be implemented,” he added.
“So all letters from Satpol PP that must be dismantled, the cliffs must be restored, and so on, are currently on hold because there is an ongoing legal process in court,” Satria emphasised.
For information, Bali Governor Wayan Koster has instructed the dismantling of the glass lift project at Kelingking Beach. Koster gave a deadline of six months for the developer to dismantle the entire Rp 200 billion project building.
“Ordering PT Indonesia Kaishi Tourism Property Investment Development Group (PT Bina Nusa Property) to stop all glass lift construction,” said Koster, quoted from detikBali, during a press conference at the Bali Governor’s Official Residence, Denpasar, on Sunday (23/11/2025).
“Carry out independent dismantling within a maximum of six months,” he continued.
