Kelapa Gading–Velodrome LRT Fare Set at Rp 5,000; How Much to Manggarai?
The Jakarta LRT extension project from Velodrome to Manggarai is set to make travel from the Kelapa Gading area to Manggarai considerably easier. The route, which is still in its final stages of completion, is targeted for inauguration this August.
With the route connected through to Manggarai, the public will be able to travel from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai in around 28 minutes. However, one question that remains is the fare for the new route.
Director of Engineering and Development at PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda), or Jakpro, Robert Sarjaka, said the Jakarta LRT fare for the Kelapa Gading–Manggarai route is still under review.
“The fare is still under review and will be decided by the DKI Jakarta provincial government,” Robert told CNBC Indonesia on Thursday (20/8/2026).
As a point of reference, the Jakarta LRT currently operating on the Kelapa Gading–Velodrome route applies a flat fare of Rp 5,000 per single journey. This fare provision was established through DKI Jakarta Gubernatorial Regulation No. 34 of 2019 concerning Fares for Mass Rapid Transit Railway Transport and Light Rail Transit.
The Kelapa Gading–Velodrome route has a track length of approximately 5.8 kilometres and consists of six stations: Pegangsaan Dua, Boulevard Utara, Boulevard Selatan, Pulomas, Equestrian, and Velodrome.
Meanwhile, the section from Velodrome to Manggarai spans 6.4 km and will pass through five stations: Rawamangun, Pramuka, Matraman, Proklamasi, and ending at Manggarai. This means that if the fare eventually set for the route to Manggarai follows the existing scheme, the public at least has an indication of the applicable Jakarta LRT travel fare. However, the decision on the new fare amount remains in the hands of the DKI Jakarta provincial government.
Robert said construction of the LRT extension to Manggarai is now entering its completion phase. Work currently being accelerated includes the track and train signalling.
“The plan is still for August; for the exact date we are following direction from the DKI Jakarta provincial government. Progress is currently focused on completing the track and train signalling work,” Robert said.
Once operational, the LRT from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai will pass through a total of 11 stations with a travel time of around 28 minutes.

The Jakarta LRT line from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai has a length of approximately 12.2 kilometres with a total of 11 stations. The route connects three areas of Jakarta: North Jakarta, East Jakarta, and South Jakarta. The 11 stations on the Jakarta LRT route are Kelapa Gading, Boulevard Utara, Boulevard Selatan, Pulomas, Equestrian, Velodrome, Rawamangun, Pramuka, Matraman, Proklamasi, and Manggarai.
