PT LRT Jakarta has recorded that with the operation of the Kelapa Gading–Manggarai route, the average daily number of passengers reached 11,300 during the period from 16 to 23 September 2026, following its inauguration by President Prabowo Subianto.

“Since its inauguration on Wednesday (16/9) until Wednesday (23/9), LRT Jakarta has served up to 91,000 passengers, with a daily average of 11,300 people,” said the President Director of PT LRT Jakarta, Aditia Kesuma Negara, in Jakarta on Friday.

According to him, this figure represents a 166 per cent increase from the average LRT Jakarta passenger count of 4,245 per day recorded until the end of August 2026.

He added that the LRT Jakarta service currently connects three administrative regions—North Jakarta, East Jakarta, and South Jakarta—ensuring that the benefits of this public transport connectivity development are felt by a wider community.

Aditia Kesuma Negara stated that the initial period of operation to Manggarai is a crucial phase for LRT Jakarta. However, the preparation processes undertaken during several stages have supported the smooth operation of the service to date.

Since the service began being used by the public, the company has continued to monitor travel patterns and operational conditions on the ground.

“We realise that in every stage of operation, there will always be room for improvement,” he said.

“We continue to observe field requirements, including travel patterns and the number of users at specific times. Adjustments to the number of LRVs (Light Rail Vehicles) are being carried out as part of our efforts to optimise capacity, while still ensuring fleet readiness to support service operations,” he added.

Various feedback provided by the public during the initial period of operation, he continued, serves as material for evaluation for LRT Jakarta to make gradual adjustments. The company appreciates the public for using the service and providing input during this early phase.

“We will continue to listen and monitor field conditions so that we can implement necessary improvements and provide the best service for the entire community,” he said.
