Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT Projected to Carry 80,000 Passengers

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that the LRT Jakarta route from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai is projected to carry up to 80,000 passengers per day. “When this is fully completed, the estimated passengers from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai will initially be around 60,000, eventually reaching 80,000,” Pramono said during a visit to Manggarai LRT Station on Thursday.

According to Pramono, this figure represents a substantial increase compared to the previous passenger count on the Kelapa Gading-Velodrome route, which only served approximately 4,000 people per day. He further noted that the operational hours for the LRT would align with those of the KRL commuter line. “The LRT president director has confirmed it will operate on the same schedule as the KRL, from 5 a.m. to midnight,” Pramono added.

Looking ahead, the governor confirmed that the extension of the line to Dukuh Atas is set to proceed. He revealed that discussions have been held with the DKI Jakarta Assistant for Economy and Finance and the project owner, Jakpro, to ensure construction can commence. “We will start next year, and the funds are already available. It is expected to be completed by August 2028,” Pramono concluded.
