Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT Capable of Transporting 80,000 Passengers per Day

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has revealed that the Jakarta LRT on the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route is capable of transporting up to 80,000 passengers every day.

“Mr President, once this is operational, the daily ridership will be approximately 80,000 passengers,” Pramono stated to President Prabowo Subianto during the LRT inauguration at Manggarai LRT Station, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (16/9).

Pramono also detailed the specifics of the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT, ranging from the track length to the capacity of the trainsets.

“The LRT from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai spans 12.2 km, with an investment of 12.1 trillion [IDR], and each trainset can accommodate 270 passengers,” he said.

This LRT route serves as a new addition to Jakarta’s connectivity, which is reported to have reached 93 per cent. Pramono also claimed that the number of public transport users in Jakarta is increasing by 15 per cent annually.

“Over the last two years, Mr President, public transport usage has increased by 15 per cent each year. Consequently, although congestion certainly persists, the people of Jakarta feel that using public transport is now much easier,” said Pramono.

For information, the Jakarta LRT Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route connects 11 stations with a travel time of approximately 28 minutes.

The eleven stations set to operate include Kelapa Gading, Boulevard Utara Summarecon Mall, Boulevard Selatan, Pulomas, Equestrian, and Velodrome stations.

The route continues through Rawamangun, Pramuka, Matraman, and Proklamasi stations, before terminating at Manggarai Station.
