KEK Industropolis Batang Strengthens Communication Strategy to Attract Investment
KEK Industropolis Batang continues to strengthen its corporate communication strategy to enhance investment appeal while building the zone’s image as a sustainable future industrial centre. The effort is carried out through two communication programmes, namely ‘The Shenzhen of Indonesia: Transforming Batang into Industrial Tech-Hub’ and PRIMA (Program Rintisan Industri Masa Depan), which promotes Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) values.
Head of Corporate Communication & CSR Department at KEK Industropolis Batang, Tanya Liwail Chamdy, said corporate communication plays a strategic role in building public understanding of the industrial zone’s transformation as well as the future direction of Indonesia’s industrial development.
‘For us, communication is not merely about conveying what the company does, but about building understanding, trust, and connection with all stakeholders. Therefore, we strive for every communication programme to represent the zone’s transformation while providing perspective on the future of Indonesian industry,’ said Tanya.
According to her, the communication strategy is designed not only to convey information about the zone’s development, but also to strengthen reputation, increase stakeholder trust, and communicate KEK Industropolis Batang’s contribution to national industrial growth.
Through the ‘The Shenzhen of Indonesia’ narrative, KEK Industropolis Batang introduces its vision as one of Indonesia’s technology-based industrial centres. This narrative is part of the company’s strategy to increase investment appeal through the development of an industrial ecosystem, infrastructure, and integrated connectivity.
Meanwhile, the PRIMA programme was developed as a communication medium for implementing ESG principles with an approach that is closer to the community and stakeholders. The programme positions sustainability and resilience of the industrial ecosystem as part of the zone’s transformation.
Tanya added that the success of an industrial zone is not only measured by the size of investment or economic activity, but also by its ability to create a sustainable ecosystem and provide added value for the community.
‘We want to ensure that the zone’s growth goes hand in hand with sustainability and value creation for the community. Communication serves as a bridge to convey that process transparently, while opening space for collaboration with the government, investors, the community, the media, and all strategic partners,’ she said.
The company’s efforts to build its communication strategy also received recognition at the PR of The Year 2026 event organised by SWA and MIX Marcom Indonesia Magazine. KEK Industropolis Batang won awards in the Creative Corporate Reputation category through the ‘The Shenzhen of Indonesia: Transforming Batang into Industrial Tech-Hub’ programme, as well as the ESG Campaign – The Best Outtakes category through the PRIMA programme.
The company considers the appreciation as encouragement to continue delivering communication that is relevant to the zone’s development while strengthening collaboration with the government, investors, the community, the media, and strategic partners in supporting the development of a competitive and sustainable industrial zone.
