Jakarta — The Industropolis Batang Special Economic Zone (KEK), which forms part of the Danareksa State-Owned Enterprise Holding, has introduced an innovative rest area facility for travellers on the Trans Java Toll Road.

Through the Industropolis Coastal Rest Area, the zone presents a rest area concept with sea vistas that offers a distinctive resting experience during the journey home.

Located at Exit Toll KIT Batang KM 371+800, the Industropolis Coastal Rest Area serves as an alternative stopping point for toll road users along the strategic Trans Java corridor.

The Industropolis Coastal Rest Area opened to the public from 14 to 23 March 2026. During this period, the zone provided various supporting facilities for travellers, ranging from spacious parking areas, toilets, family rest areas, to dining options involving local micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) from Batang.

Additionally, a mosque capable of accommodating up to 2,400 worshippers with an area of approximately 200 square metres is available.

Indri Septa Respati, Director of Marketing and Development at KEK Industropolis Batang, stated that the presence of this rest area is part of the zone’s efforts to provide services to the public, particularly toll road users during the homecoming season.

“We want this homecoming momentum to become an opportunity for people to get to know Industropolis Batang more closely. This zone is not only developing as an industrial centre, but we are also building it as an integrated new city in Batang,” said Indri in a press statement on Sunday (15 March 2026).

“The presence of this rest area is a form of our service so that travellers can rest comfortably whilst enjoying a different atmosphere,” she added.

This concept is expected to strengthen the role of Industropolis Batang as an integrated zone that supports regional economic growth.

On the other hand, Nasrullah, Director General of PT Jasamarga Semarang Batang (JSB), valued the presence of the Industropolis Coastal Rest Area as providing an additional option for toll road users traversing the Semarang–Batang stretch.

“The Industropolis Coastal Rest Area is very attractive because it has a beautiful sea view. We hope that toll road users can stop here for a moment, enjoy the pleasant atmosphere, so they can continue their journey with greater peace of mind and safety,” said Nasrullah.

With increased public mobility during the homecoming season, comfortable rest facilities have become one of the important needs for toll road users.

Beyond benefiting travellers, the rest area also opens up economic opportunities for local MSME operators. The presence of food vendors involving Batang community businesses is expected to boost economic activity in the zone during the rest area’s operational period.
