KEK ETKI Banten Secures Rp 1.4 Trillion Investment, Absorbs 1,700 Workers
The government has designated BSD City as the centre for the Education, Technology, and International Health Special Economic Zone (KEK ETKI) in Banten, aiming to establish a new economic growth hub in the Greater Jakarta area. Head of the KEK ETKI Banten Business Entity (BUPP), Lindawaty Chandra, stated that as of the first quarter of 2026, the zone has recorded a realised investment of Rp 1.4 trillion. This investment has come from the BUPP itself and 27 business operators, absorbing a total of 1,700 workers. The KEK ETKI continues to be promoted to attract investment, particularly in the fields of hospitals, education, and artificial intelligence-based data centres. To further boost investment, regulatory support is currently needed, especially concerning the health sector and the development of stem cell research.
