KEK Batang Secures European Investment Commitments for Green Infrastructure
PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang or KEK Industropolis Batang has secured several strategic cooperation commitments from Europe through an investment diplomacy mission held from 18 to 22 May 2026 in Austria, Slovakia, and the Netherlands.
The initiative was undertaken in collaboration with the Presidential Staff Office, the National Special Economic Zone (KEK) Council Secretariat, Indonesia Investment Promotion Centre London, and the Indonesian Embassies in Austria, Slovakia, and the Netherlands.
The commitments include the development of vocational training centres, net-zero energy technology transformation, smart infrastructure financing, and strengthening international logistics corridors.
During the meetings, KEK Industropolis Batang proposed utilising the Austrian Soft Loan scheme for constructing a Vocational Training Centre on a seven-hectare plot within the industrial estate.
The training centre, designed in partnership with EEE Group, aims to prepare modern industrial workforce, including electricians, electronics technicians, and advanced welders to meet tenant demands.
ANDRITZ Hydro also expressed interest in exploring localisation of green energy technology and supply to support environmentally conscious industrial development.
The forum, attended by over 35 European company leaders, resulted in a Letter of Intent signed between PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang and Innovation Platform Capital.
The agreement was signed by Thomas Edde, Senior Partner for Smart City & Infrastructure Portfolio at Innovation Platform Capital, unlocking government-backed global funding for smart infrastructure and utilities development.
In the industrial and logistics sectors, companies including Kinazo Design, Power Xtender, and ICTS Logistic are exploring European-Indonesian logistics corridors and potential Batang-based logistics hubs.
Additionally, steel processing collaborations to meet European market demands were discussed with Schmidt Rozmer sro.
