The Batang Special Economic Zone (KEK) Industropolis Batang, a component of the state-owned enterprise holding Danareksa, together with Jasamarga Semarang, has officially launched the Industropolis Coastal Rest Area with sea views at the exit of the KIT Batang toll road, kilometre 371+800, from Saturday, 14 March.

“We want this homebound travel season to be an opportunity for the public to become better acquainted with Industropolis Batang,” said Indri Septa Respati, Director of Marketing and Development at KEK Industropolis Batang, in Batang, Central Java, on Saturday.

According to her, this initiative represents the industrial zone’s commitment to serving the broader public, particularly users of the Trans-Java toll road. “This zone is not only developing as an industrial hub but also being constructed as an integrated new city in Batang. The presence of this rest area is a form of our service so that homebound travellers can rest comfortably whilst enjoying a different atmosphere,” she said.

The KEK Industropolis management has prepared various facilities to support the comfort of travellers, including a spacious car park, clean toilets, family rest rooms, and a selection of cuisine specialising in local Batang dishes from micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM), as well as Al-Nahl Mosque, which can accommodate up to 2,400 worshippers.

Nasrullah, Director General of PT Jasamarga Semarang-Batang (JSB), appreciated the availability of an alternative stopping point along the toll road under his company’s management. According to him, the sea view at the Industropolis Batang Special Economic Zone is an added value rarely found at other toll rest areas.

“The Industropolis Coastal Rest Area is particularly attractive because it offers beautiful sea views. We hope that toll road users will stop briefly here to enjoy a pleasant atmosphere so they can continue their journey with greater peace of mind and safety,” he said.
