Kejagung Examines 12 Witnesses in Alleged MBG Programme Corruption
The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has examined a total of 12 witnesses in relation to the alleged corruption case concerning the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme for the 2025-2026 period.
Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, stated that the examination of the dozen witnesses was conducted by investigators on Monday (11/8). One of the witnesses examined was the Secretary to the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), with the initials RRNWP.
‘The witness examination is conducted to strengthen the evidence and complete the case files in the said matter,’ he said in a written statement.
The 12 witnesses who complied with the investigators’ summons are:
O, as Support Staff for the Acting PPK for Tablet Procurement at BGN.
RHG, a BGN Employee.
WH, a party from the TBCS Foundation.
GDF, a BGN Employee.
Z, a BGN Employee.
YCS.
RRNWP, Secretary to the Head of BGN.
RE, Finance/Finance Staff of PT GSN.
A party from PT KSK.
Director of PT BPK.
AR, Director of PT EC.
DRP, Head of SPPG at the SPB Foundation.
However, Anang did not elaborate further on the material to be explored by investigators with the twelve witnesses. He only stated that the witness examination was carried out to complete the case files of the suspects and to trace assets suspected to originate from criminal proceeds.
‘The investigation process will continue to be carried out professionally, independently, and accountably while upholding the presumption of innocence and the principle of prudence,’ he said.
Previously, the Attorney General’s Office had named a total of seven suspects in the corruption case concerning the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme for the 2025-2026 period. The seven individuals are former Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana; former Deputy Heads of BGN Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung; Sony’s associate Asep Yusuf Somantri; Commissioner of PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal (YAT), Andri Mulyono; Chairperson of the Indonesia Food Security Review Foundation, Glory Harimas Sihombing; and Secretary of the Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation of BGN, Brigadier General Lalu Muhammad Iwan Mahardan.
In this case, the Attorney General’s Office explained that the MBG programme was supposed to be managed by the Nutrition Service and Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) foundation affiliated with recipient schools. However, in practice, many SPPGs were appointed due to their affiliations with BGN officials. Furthermore, many foundations did not actually meet the requirements to become SPPG partners. There were also mark-ups in procurement prices, causing losses that did not support the operational implementation of the MBG programme. These included 21,801 electric motorcycles worth IDR 1.03 trillion, 32,000 pairs of shoes, 31,994 tablets, and 5,400 75-inch televisions.
