The Kediri City Government in East Java continues to accelerate road improvement efforts ahead of the Eid celebrations, which commence this week.

Several road sections currently undergoing repairs include Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan Hasanudin, and Jalan Teuku Umar. Repairs are focused on areas of severe damage to prevent disruption to public mobility during the major religious celebration.

Endang Kartikasari, Head of the Public Works and Housing Office (DPUPR) of Kediri City, stated that improvements are being conducted to ensure road conditions are safer and more comfortable as traffic volume increases during the Eid exodus period.

However, Endang noted that the department has encountered some obstacles during implementation. In particular, restrictions on heavy vehicles have affected the mobility of vehicles transporting road materials. Despite this, the department has coordinated across different sectors to address existing issues and continues to accelerate repairs around the clock.

“Hopefully we will complete the work before Eid,” said Endang.

A resident, Ansori, expressed appreciation for the road improvement efforts, emphasising the priority given to road user comfort and safety. “Praise be to God, the roads are smoother, making driving more comfortable,” Ansori said.
