Kediri Regent Sees Off Hajj Group 112, Urges Pilgrims to Maintain Unity in Holy Land
Kediri Regent Hanindhito Himawan Pramana saw off the departure of Hajj Group 112 from Kediri Regency at Simpang Lima Gumul (SLG) on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The group attracted attention as one of its pilgrims, Marsiyah, aged 105, from Bulu Village, Semen District, is recorded as the oldest Hajj pilgrim in Indonesia for the 2026 season.
Four buses transported the pilgrims to Surabaya Embarkation Point before their journey to the Holy Land. Marsiyah will be accompanied by her second child, Muidah, aged 63, during the Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Known as Dhito, the Regent stated that 1,219 pilgrims from Kediri Regency are departing this season. He noted this number is a source of pride for the regency.
‘Alhamdulillah, the oldest pilgrim at 105 has departed in Group 112. The total Hajj pilgrims from Kediri this year are 1,219,’ he said.
Dhito expressed hope that all pilgrims would be granted health, safety, and smooth completion of their Hajj rituals until their return home. ‘We pray together that all departing Hajj pilgrims are granted health, safety, and a mabrur Hajj,’ he added.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining unity and mutual assistance among pilgrims while in the Holy Land, noting the limited number of local Hajj escorts compared to the total number of departing pilgrims.
