Kediri (ANTARA) - The Kediri City Government, East Java, has prepared seven buses as a transportation fleet to carry prospective Hajj pilgrims from the city departing during the 2026 Hajj season. Deputy Mayor of Kediri Qowimuddin Thoha said on Wednesday that the Kediri City Government has collaborated with the Kediri City Ministry of Religious Affairs to prepare various supporting facilities. “The facilities prepared range from transportation fleets, luggage handling, to escorts during the journey. It is hoped that the entire departure process will run safely, orderly, and smoothly,” he said during the send-off of Kediri’s prospective Hajj pilgrims in Kediri. His side revealed that the prepared fleet is sufficient to transport 281 prospective Hajj pilgrims from Kediri City. There are seven buses prepared by the city government to transport those prospective Hajj pilgrims. Gus Qowim, his familiar nickname, also reminded that all departure stages should be carefully observed, so that preparations can be carried out maximally together with the family. He also reminded that the Hajj pilgrimage requires not only spiritual readiness but also physical. Therefore, the pilgrims are asked to maintain their health while performing the pilgrimage. “Maintain good health, because this is the main key. Then maintain solidarity, because all pilgrims in this cluster are one family. Help each other and obey the instructions of the officers,” he said. He also entrusted the accompanying officers to provide the best service to all pilgrims. “May all pilgrims be granted smoothness, health, and return to the homeland with the title of Hajj mabrur,” he said. For the 2026 Hajj season, the city government is also sending five officers to accompany and monitor the health of the prospective Hajj pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj season, so that their health can be better monitored. The Hajj officers who will accompany consist of two doctors, one nurse, and other accompanying officers.
