Kebon Sirih could be more beautiful
Kebon Sirih could be more beautiful
From Neraca
Taking a stroll along tree-lined Jalan Kebon Sirih is enjoyable now. The pavement is wide, the street is free from pot holes, and the telephone boxes in the street have an artistic touch.
Unfortunately, there are some things which keep bothering me. Signs prohibiting cars from parking along the street are still ignored, especially at those sections in front of the National Security Institute (Lemhanas) and Dispenda office of the Jakarta administration. The same goes for side-walk traders in front of the Dispenda office.
I urge the Jakarta administration to go on patrol to clear the street of the side-walk traders and illegally parked cars.
Also it is much better if bus passengers wait for their buses in the bus shelters provided.
I hope this particular street can be set as an example for other streets in Jakarta, in line with the government effort's to create a clean and attractive city.
