KDM Urges Relevant Parties to Support Vehicle Tax Payment Facilitation
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has temporarily deactivated the Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Samsat office in Bandung City. This measure was taken due to the non-implementation of a policy regarding the facilitation of annual Motor Vehicle Tax payments.
KDM, the familiar name for Dedi Mulyadi, explained that the deactivation was carried out because the Samsat head ignored regulations and did not serve the public well.
“Staff are still found not serving the public properly and ignoring the Governor’s Circular. Therefore, today I have temporarily deactivated the Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Samsat,” he stated in a written statement on Monday (13/4/2026).
As is known, starting from 6 April 2026, taxpayers will find it easier to pay their annual Motor Vehicle Tax because they no longer need to bring the Identity Card (KTP) of the first vehicle owner.
Taxpayers only need to bring the Vehicle Registration Card (STNK) and the Identity Card (KTP) of the party controlling the vehicle. This policy is outlined in Circular Letter (SE) Number 47/KU.03.02/BAPENDA.
However, based on field investigations and reports from the public on social media, the implementation of this SE has not been optimal at the Soekarno-Hatta Samsat. Taxpayers are still required to show the KTP of the first vehicle owner when making payments.
Therefore, KDM has instructed the Inspectorate and the West Java Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) to investigate the reasons why this policy has not been applied. In addition, Samsat staff are urged to provide optimal service and not ignore the established regulations.
According to him, this facilitation of annual PKB payments is expected to smooth the payment process while increasing public awareness and compliance in fulfilling motor vehicle tax obligations.
