KDM to Revitalise Four Palaces in Cirebon and Build Caruban Plaza
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIREBON – West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi plans to restore the beauty of four palaces in Cirebon City. Keraton Kasepuhan, Kacirebonan, Kanoman, and Kaprabonan will be arranged to be clean and neat. The roads around the palaces will be cleaned, pavements repaired, and the river will also be cleaned so that it has clear water flowing to the sea. “There should no longer be scattered rubbish and slums. I have no desires other than a legacy during my leadership, that when Dedi Mulyadi leads with the spirit of Padjadjaran, Keraton Kasepuhan, Kacirebonan, Kanoman, Kaprabonan, all must be neatly arranged as in the past,” said the governor, familiarly known as KDM, during the Kirab Budaya Mahkota Binokasih Napaktilas Padjadjaran event in Cirebon City on Sunday (10/5/2026) night. “No need to just talk about the provincial budget, many want to help participate,” he added. He explained that the plan is to make tourists comfortable and want to stay longer in Cirebon. Currently, according to him, tourists only stay a day in Cirebon. “I heard stories, visits to the palaces in Cirebon average a day and then leave because they only see the palace, their eyes can no longer see the beautiful Cirebon. The atmosphere is too hot. The historical atmosphere, social atmosphere, and atmosphere of love and affection are lost. So I invite the Regent and the Mayor, let us use love in arranging the city,” he stressed. KDM emphasised responsibility for all development and renovation of the palaces in Cirebon. However, with the condition that they must be maintained and preserved, not sold for the needs of a few people. “We are not selling the palace but we are maintaining the palace. We are not selling the grave but we are maintaining the grave,” he stressed. He will also arrange the route of the Kirab Budaya Mahkota Binokasih Napaktilas Padjadjaran in every city passed during the Milangkala Tatar Sunda event. This arrangement is to restore the beauty of the city and reaffirm the existence of West Java’s history of art and culture to the people of West Java. “In Karawang, I will build Pelataran Cinta. In Bogor, I will also build Pelataran Binokasih. So next year, in Cirebon from where I started earlier until here, I will build Pelataran Caruban,” he said.
