The Milangkala Tatar Sunda Cultural Parade is more than just a display of arts and culture. West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that there will be follow-up efforts to advance arts and culture in West Java.

KDM, as Dedi Mulyadi is affectionately known, made this statement during the Milangkala Tatar Sunda Cultural Parade in Bogor on Friday night (8/5/2026). The parade, themed “Nitis Wanci Batu Tulis”, started from the Pajajaran Museum on Batutulis Street and proceeded to Lawang Suryakencana.

KDM said that one of the efforts to be undertaken by the West Java Provincial Government is to organise arts and culture facilities, including improving the Pajajaran Museum with a budget of Rp9 billion.

“The organisation of roads, sidewalks, lighting, and parks, so that the Mayor can focus on organising the wards. It will be called Palataran Binokasih,” said KDM, quoted on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.

Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim expressed thanks to KDM for the plans that have been and will be implemented in efforts to revere Sunda culture.

“The Governor has brought the Mahkota Binokasih from Sumedang to Bogor today,” he said.

Dedie views the cultural parade not merely as a ceremonial activity, but as a momentum to appreciate the ancestral Sunda cultural heritage and to convey noble values as important lessons for the community, especially the younger generation.

Meanwhile, regarding the plans to organise arts and culture facilities, Dedie said that his side will carry out planning and budgeting in accordance with regulations and government governance.

The Milangkala Tatar Sunda Cultural Parade in Bogor featured the Mahkota Binokasih Sanghyang Pake crown, which was previously stored in the Sumedang Larang Kingdom.

Thousands of residents crowded the routes passed by the procession of various traditional arts from 27 cities/regencies in the West Java region. In addition, spectators enjoyed performances from the Kampung Adat community as well as parade participants from Central Java, Jakarta, and Banten.
