West Java Provincial Government has again suspended angkot drivers, pedicab operators and andong to facilitate the Idul Fitri 2026 homecoming traffic. West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said the policy to suspend ojek riders, angkot drivers, and andong, and pedicabs on the mudik routes. ‘The break will last for a week,’ he said on Thursday, 5 March 2026. He said the policy is intended to ease the burden on the police in managing the flow of the mudik. ‘I have reported to the Police Chief, all mudik routes where there are angkot, pedicabs, and andong and other matters will be suspended before and after Idul Fitri,’ the governor, known as KDM (Kang Dedi Mulyadi), said. KDM continued that those who stop operating for a week will be given a pocket allowance. ‘Disbursement of the compensation will be carried out in phases starting next week,’ he said. Reflecting on last year, suspending angkot, pedicabs and andong is believed to prevent traffic bottlenecks in West Java during mudik. ‘Thus people heading to Central Java and East Java can pass through West Java comfortably, the roads will be smooth,’ he said. KDM also confirmed that angkot, pedicab and andong drivers will enjoy the holiday period with the assurance of pocket money. ‘Thus during mudik, they can stay at home with their families and receive compensation for the week they do not work,’ he said.
