KDM Sends 'Black and White' Floral Arrangement for Jakarta's Anniversary, Here's What the DKI Provincial Government Says

Floral arrangements congratulating Jakarta on its 499th anniversary lined the courtyard of DKI Jakarta City Hall. Among the rows of brightly coloured tributes, one arrangement stood out as different because it was dominated by black and white.

The arrangement was known to have come from West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, familiarly called Kang Dedi Mulyadi (KDM). The arrangement used a black background at the top and white at the bottom, with white flowers.

“Happy 499th Anniversary to the City of Jakarta. Kang Dedi Mulyadi, Governor of West Java,” read the message on the arrangement on Tuesday (23/6/2026).

Meanwhile, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government conveyed its appreciation for the greeting from Dedi Mulyadi delivered through the floral arrangement.

Special Staff to the Governor of DKI Jakarta for Public Communication, Chico Hakim, said DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and the entire DKI Provincial Government were grateful for all the greetings given to Jakarta, including from Dedi Mulyadi.

“Governor Pramono Anung and the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government express thanks for the floral arrangements sent from all citizens, government officials, and certainly including from Kang Dedi Mulyadi,” Chico said when contacted on Tuesday (23/6/2026).

It is known that Jakarta’s 499th anniversary was commemorated on 22 June 2026. The DKI Provincial Government held a series of activities, ranging from a ceremony in the National Monument (Monas) area, a DKI Jakarta Regional House of Representatives plenary session, to the inauguration of several public facilities as part of the capital city’s anniversary celebrations.
