KDM Reveals Major Targets for Mountain and Forest Reforestation
The Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi (KDM), has stated that the reforestation of mountains and forests is one of his major targets while leading West Java. He acknowledged that this task is not easy and has called upon all parties to work together to achieve it.
“To be honest, for me, building roads is easy, building schools is easy. But the heaviest task for me is reforesting mountains and forests,” said Dedi Mulyadi during the ‘Ground Talk & Bebersih Leuweung Republika’ event at Situ Cisanti, Gunung Wayang, Tarumajaya Village, Kertasari District, Bandung Regency, on Saturday (26/09/2026).
KDM stated that he launched this reforestation target because he is distressed by seeing many gardens and forests becoming barren and being converted into business land. “Leading West Java for these five years will be meaningless if I cannot reforest the West Java Province,” Dedi Mulyadi added.
To realise this, the West Java Provincial Government will undertake massive planting efforts tailored to land conditions. For instance, barren tea plantation lands will be replanted with similar commodities. Similarly, forest areas will be addressed according to their specific conditions. Dedi has already instructed the Forestry Service and the Plantation Service to allocate specific budgets for reforestation and forest management.
