KDM Inspects Cipatat Area Blanketed by Limestone Quarry Dust Pollution, Regent Jeje Responds
West Bandung Regent Jeje Ritchie Ismail has spoken out regarding the alleged dust pollution resembling snowfall in the Gunung Masigit Village area, Cipatat District, West Bandung Regency, West Java. The pollution, originating from limestone flour processing activities, was the subject of a surprise inspection by Governor Dedi Mulyadi. The West Java Governor conducted the inspection at a company producing limestone, where dust pollution is suspected to have spread, turning trees, vendor stalls, and residents’ homes white like snow. ‘It has not been confirmed yet. As for the limestone factory, I happened to have an agenda yesterday, so I have not had time to communicate with the Governor,’ Jeje said when confirmed on Tuesday (15/7/2026). Nevertheless, Jeje assured that the West Bandung Regency Government supports the West Java Provincial Government in following up on the alleged violations. He stated that his administration would coordinate with the provincial government. ‘I certainly support all policies implemented by the Governor, because what is done is for the good of the community, not solely for his own interests,’ he said.
