KDM Hands Over Rp1 Billion Bonus, Claims Proceeds from Cattle Sales for Persib Bandung
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, also known as KDM, has promised a Rp1 billion bonus to Persib Bandung. The presentation of this reward for Persib Bandung’s success in winning the Super League three times was done in an unusual way.
A cash sum of Rp1 billion, kept in a black bag, was handed over directly by KDM to the Director of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB), Glenn Sugita. The handover ceremony took place during a plenary session at the West Java DPRD building in Bandung on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
KDM emphasized that the funds came entirely from his personal funds, specifically from the proceeds of his cattle farming business, and not from state or regional budgets.
“As I said, it’s from the proceeds of my cattle sales. Some cows are worth Rp50 million, some are Rp60 million, and the cheapest are Rp40 million. Just calculate how many cows that is,” said KDM in front of the media.
This is to motivate the Persib squad and prevent them from becoming complacent. He even challenged the West Java pride team to maintain their dominance next season with the promise of a larger bonus.
“Yes, if they win again, I’ll give a bonus of Rp2 billion,” he said.
Commissioner of PT PBB, Umuh Muchtar, expressed deep appreciation for the consistent attention given by the West Java Governor. According to him, winning the trophy for three consecutive seasons is a special moment for the people of West Java.
“I would like to thank the Governor for paying so much attention to Persib. Thank God, hopefully next year Persib will win again. Of course, I will gladly accept the bonus,” said Umuh.
Umuh added that management would likely not take a share of the funds but would distribute them directly to the Persib players.
“I also spoke with Mr. Glenn earlier. Perhaps the bonus will be given specifically to the players,” he explained.
Regarding preparations for next season, the management of PT PBB signaled that they would invest heavily again. Although reluctant to give details, Umuh assured that there would be additional high-quality players to maintain the championship title.
“Just wait a little longer. It’s so that Persib can win again. Hopefully, Mr. Glenn has also said that he will bring in new, quality players,” Umuh concluded. (Ant/H-4)
