KDM Draws 'Red Line' to Protect SMAN 1 Bandung Assets
The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov Jabar) has affirmed it will fight to protect state assets in facing a lawsuit from the Christian Lyceum Association (PLK) at the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) against the Directorate General of General Legal Administration (Ditjen AHU) of the Ministry of Law. West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, familiarly known as Kang Dedi Mulyadi (KDM), stressed his commitment to defending state assets in West Java, particularly in the land dispute in the Dago area. Through the West Java Regional Secretariat’s Legal and Human Rights Bureau, the provincial government stated that PLK has no legal standing to sue because it is legally ‘defunct’. Following a hearing on the PLK lawsuit at the Jakarta PTUN on Wednesday, Senior Legal Analyst at the Legal and Human Rights Bureau, Arief Nadjemudin, stated this is a top priority. Governor KDM said that asset is our priority. For these assets, the provincial government must not lose. It is non-negotiable, Arief said. Arief referred to Pemprov Jabar’s victory in the case concerning SMAN 1 Bandung’s assets, which had previously also been contested by parties claiming to represent Het Christelijk Lyceum (HCL)/Christian Lyceum Association (PLK). Regarding the current PLK lawsuit, Arief stressed that PLK has no legal basis to file any lawsuit. I also add that regarding this PLK organisation, it actually has no legal standing whatsoever to sue anyone, especially as it is not a legal entity. It is already defunct, he emphasised. As is known, Governor Dedi Mulyadi himself has already voiced his objection to case number 435/G/2025/PTUN.JKT filed by PLK against the Ministry of Law cq the Directorate General of General Legal Administration (AHU). In its objection, Pemprov Jabar argues that PLK’s lawsuit against the Ministry of Law has no legitimate legal standing. This non-negotiable stance from KDM defines Pemprov Jabar’s policy line in protecting state and regional assets from claims by organisations of dubious legality. Pemprov Jabar has repeatedly stated that PLK is not the legitimate successor to HCL, considering HCL was dissolved and declared prohibited through Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 50 of 1960. With this position, Pemprov Jabar is prepared to face the entire legal process regarding PLK’s lawsuit to its final stage. During a follow-up hearing at the Jakarta PTUN, two witnesses were presented by the defendant from the Ministry of Law’s Ditjen AHU: Benny Wullur and the Head of Economic Resilience, Cultural Arts, Religion, and Community Affairs for West Java, Irman Nugraha.
