West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov Jabar) has again ordered a temporary halt on Angkot drivers, becak operators, and andong to facilitate Lebaran 2026 mudik traffic. West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi (KDM) said the policy suspending ojek riders, Angkot drivers, andong, and becak applies specifically to those along the mudik route corridors. ‘The suspension will last for one week,’ he said on Thursday (5 March 2026). He added that the policy is intended to ease the burden on the police in managing the smooth flow of mudik traffic. ‘I have reported to the Chief of Police; all mudik routes that involve Angkot, becak, and andong, and other such vehicles will be suspended before and after Eid al-Fitr,’ the governor, known as KDM (Kang Dedi Mulyadi), said. KDM continued that for those who stop operating for a week, they would be given a cash allowance. ‘Disbursement of the compensation will be carried out in stages starting next week,’ he asserted. Reflecting on last year, suspending Angkot, becak, andong is believed to prevent bottlenecks in mudik traffic in West Java. ‘So that people heading to Central Java and East Java can pass through West Java comfortably; the roads will be smooth,’ he said.
