PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) predicts that the daily volume of Whoosh passengers will rise by 25 percent during the Eid al-Fitr 2026 period.

General Manager of Corporate Secretary at PT KCIC, Eva Chairunisa, explained that this surge differs from normal days, which range from 16,000 to 18,000 passengers, and weekends with around 20,000 passengers.

“If we predict the daily increase in volume per day, it could rise by up to 25 percent compared to normal days. So, normal days are around 16,000 to 18,000 (passengers),” she said to Antara when met at KCIC Halim Station, East Jakarta, on Wednesday.

In fact, Eva stated, the increase could reach 30 percent during the Eid period. “We see that the percentage could rise between 25 and 30 percent,” she said.

Previously, Eva mentioned that the number of passengers during the 2025 Eid period was around 290,000 people, predicted to increase to about 301,000 passengers in 2026 Eid.

“The increase in the number of passengers shows the growing interest of the public in using Whoosh as a transport choice during the Eid holiday period,” said Eva in Bandung, West Java, on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

KCIC also estimates that the peak passenger movement will occur during two main periods in the 2026 Eid Transportation period.

“The increase in passenger volume is expected to be visible starting from 17 March 2026 and continue to rise until approaching Eid, with the peak of the homecoming flow predicted on H-1 Eid or 20 March 2026,” she said.
