PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) hopes that all passengers will follow the rules and instructions from staff and avoid actions that endanger themselves, disrupt operations, or damage Whoosh facilities.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has asked all passengers to comply with safety regulations following an incident where a user held back the door of the Whoosh High-Speed Train at Padalarang Station, in order to maintain smooth operations and travel comfort.

“KCIC hopes that all passengers can follow the rules and instructions from staff and not take actions that endanger themselves, disrupt operations, or damage Whoosh facilities,” said KCIC General Manager of Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa when confirmed in Jakarta on Saturday.

She conveyed this in response to a passenger holding the train door that had already begun closing because they realised they had left an item on the platform.

She emphasised that the passenger’s action of holding the Whoosh High-Speed Train door at Padalarang Station on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, on the Padalarang-Halim route, disrupted the sensor in the automatic door opening and closing system on the train.

The incident triggered a delay in the Whoosh journey; the scheduled departure at 07:23 WIB was only able to proceed at 07:25 WIB.

Eva stressed that such actions by passengers cannot be justified under any circumstances, so the company condemns what was done.

“We condemn the passenger’s action of holding the train door, because besides violating the rules, such action also has the potential to damage facilities and impacts hundreds of other passengers due to departure delays,” said Eva.

She explained that every Whoosh train set is equipped with an automatic door system that is an important part of journey safety.

Forcibly holding the door causes the automatic closing system to malfunction and potentially leads to long-term facility damage risks.

Furthermore, she said KCIC has stationed staff on the platform and inside the train to ensure all passengers are safely inside the Whoosh before the doors are closed.

In addition, passengers are required to always follow instructions from staff for journey safety.

All passengers must pay attention and double-check their carry-on items before entering the train because all passengers’ carry-ons are their personal responsibility.

If there are items left behind, added Eva, passengers can coordinate with staff inside the train for further handling through KCIC’s lost and found system.

“The passenger in question has been given a reprimand to not repeat such actions,” said Eva.
