KCIC urges passengers to arrive early to avoid missing the train
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) is urging passengers on the Whoosh high-speed train to arrive early and book tickets at least two days (H-2) before their scheduled departure to avoid rushing and missing the train.
“Passengers should arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure because many have missed trains due to rushing or traffic jams,” said KCIC Corporate Communication Manager Emir Monti at the KCIC Station in East Jakarta on Thursday.
Passengers are also reminded to book tickets online early, as they can sell out quickly during peak periods. For instance, Tuesday (24/3) marked the peak of the Eid return flow, with a total of around 24,000 passengers per day.
“On 24 March, tickets from Padalarang, from midday until the last train, were completely sold out. So passengers arriving at the station without tickets were left without options,” he said.
Therefore, prospective passengers must book Whoosh tickets well in advance to avoid unwanted situations. “It’s better to book online from the start, at least H-2 or H-1,” he added.
This figure is an increase compared to the same period in 2025, which reached 202,007 passengers.
The interim peak for Eid transportation in 2026 occurred on Tuesday (24/3) with a volume of 24,315 passengers in one day.
KCIC provides flexibility for passengers wishing to reschedule, up to a maximum of 15 minutes after the scheduled departure. Refunds are available up to two hours before departure.
The Whoosh high-speed train is Indonesia’s and Southeast Asia’s first, operating at speeds of up to 350 km/h and serving the Jakarta-Bandung route with four main stations: Halim, Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar Summarecon. KCIC is committed to providing safe, fast, and reliable transportation services to the public.
