Bandung (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) transported 311,472 passengers on the Whoosh high-speed train during the Eid holiday period from 13 to 30 March 2026. KCIC Corporate Secretary General Manager Eva Chairunisa stated that during this period, the Whoosh high-speed train experienced an increase of 7.06 per cent compared to the same period in 2025, which reached 290,935 passengers. “The increase in the number of passengers during this year’s Eid transportation shows that Whoosh is increasingly trusted as the primary transport choice. Amid high public mobility, all operations ran safely, smoothly, and under control,” Eva said in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday. Eva noted that the number of Whoosh passengers was consistently high, with an average of 17,304 passengers per day and a peak on 24 March 2026 reaching 24,315 passengers in one day. “To support this high mobility, KCIC operated 1,088 Whoosh trips with an on-time performance rate of 99.4 per cent,” she said. Based on departure stations, the highest passenger volume was recorded at Halim Station with 143,652 passengers, followed by Padalarang Station with 110,398 passengers. Next, Tegalluar Station with 46,735 passengers and Karawang Station with 10,687 passengers. “This increase in passenger volume was also driven by growing public trust in Whoosh services, support from promotional programmes such as Whoosh Value+, as well as increasingly complete facilities and services at stations and on the trains,” she said. KCIC is committed to continuing to maintain service quality and ensuring a safe, comfortable, and on-time travel experience for all passengers in the future. “We thank all passengers for their trust, as well as the TNI, Police, and all stakeholders who have supported the smooth operation of services during this Eid transportation period,” Eva said.
