Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has ensured that the security and surveillance system at Whoosh Stations is strengthened during this year’s Eid al-Fitr Lebaran homecoming period. One of the efforts undertaken is the deployment of 1,773 Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) units across all station areas and rail lines. “KCIC operates 1,773 CCTV units spread across stations, operational tracks, depots, and even inside the train carriages,” said KCIC Corporate Communication Manager Emir Monti when confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday. Emir stated that the deployment of these CCTVs is intended to ensure that all Whoosh train passengers are safe both within the station and on board the train. In addition, the CCTVs are also used to monitor all operations at the stations and on the trains to ensure they run safely and conducive. Not only deploying CCTVs, the company has also mobilised 551 combined personnel to secure the station areas during the homecoming period. “A total of 551 security personnel consisting of internal KCIC security officers, operational security personnel, as well as support from TNI and Polri, are placed at stations, operational tracks, and depot areas,” Emir explained. Furthermore, KCIC has stationed 309 internal company post officers at all Whoosh stations, the Central Post of the Ministry of Transportation, and various operational work areas of Whoosh. “We do this to monitor operations while providing services and assistance to passengers during the Lebaran transport period,” Emir clarified. With these security procedures in place, Emir hopes that all activities of Whoosh train passengers during the homecoming period can proceed safely and conducive.
