KCIC prepares over 650,000 Whoosh train tickets for Eid holiday period
PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) said the expanded ticket allocation is aimed at ensuring safe, smooth and comfortable journeys throughout the peak travel season.
“As of March 14, 2026, Whoosh trips have been increased to 62 per day,” KCIC Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa told reporters in Jakarta.
The operator has designated an 18-day Eid travel window running from March 13 to March 30, 2026, during which passenger volumes are expected to rise steadily.

Chairunisa said ticket sales had reached 133,000 as of March 16 at 9:00 p.m., with bookings continuing as sales remain open until departure times.
She added that earlier operational constraints had temporarily reduced daily trips to 42 due to relocation work on high-voltage power lines crossing the railway.
With the completion of those works, KCIC has restored and increased service frequency to accommodate the seasonal spike in passengers.
The company forecasts a 4 percent rise in total passengers during this year’s Eid travel period compared with last year.
Daily ridership is expected to increase to around 25,000 passengers, up from approximately 23,000 recorded during the 2025 Eid holiday season.
KCIC said the normalization of services has also restored the original departure schedules for the Whoosh trains.
From Halim Station in Jakarta, the first train now departs at 6:25 a.m., while the last service leaves at 9:25 p.m.
Meanwhile, from Tegalluar Summarecon Station in Cileunyi, West Java, the first departure is scheduled at 6:05 a.m., with the final train leaving at 9:05 p.m.
The operator said it has strengthened operational readiness and passenger services in anticipation of higher demand, including station management and on-board services.
Indonesia typically experiences a sharp rise in travel during Eid al-Fitr, one of the country’s busiest holiday periods, as millions journey to their hometowns.
