KCIC predicts 20,000 daily ticket sales during Eid al-Fitr homecoming
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) predicts that Whoosh train tickets could reach 20,000 per day throughout the Eid al-Fitr homecoming period in 2026. KCIC Corporate Secretary General Manager Eva Chairunisa stated that the increase in passenger numbers is inseparable from the implementation of flexible work policies (WFA) starting from Sunday (15/3), ongoing school holidays, and collective leave. “The increase in passenger numbers shows that the public now has more flexibility in planning Eid travel and is not concentrated only on days close to Eid,” Eva told ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday. She revealed that the temporary peak in Whoosh ticket sales before Eid occurred on Wednesday (18/3), reaching 19,000 passengers. Meanwhile, for Thursday departures, she continued, tickets sold by midday had reached around 16,000. She estimated that this number would continue to rise as ticket sales are still ongoing until the last departure time. As of Monday (16/3) at 21.00 WIB, Eva disclosed that the total tickets sold had reached around 133,000 for the travel period from 13 March 2026 to 30 March 2026. KCIC urges the public to book Whoosh tickets immediately, especially online for passenger convenience. According to her, ticket sales will continue to move, particularly for departures close to Eid. “We urge the public to book now to get the desired travel schedule and avoid running out of tickets on favourite dates,” she said. Whoosh tickets for the Eid transport period can be booked through all official sales channels, namely the Whoosh application, the official website ticket.kcic.co.id, and partner applications such as Access by KAI, Livin’ by Mandiri, BRImo, Wondr by BNI, Tiket.com, Traveloka, and Trip.com.
