KCIC offers 20 per cent discount on Whoosh group ticket purchases

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) is offering a 20 per cent discount on group ticket purchases for the Whoosh service during the 2026 Lebaran travel period to increase passenger interest. “We have a discount for groups of up to 20 per cent, and there is also a subscription card with around 40 per cent off,” said KCIC Corporate Communications Manager Emir Monti at KCIC Halim Station, East Jakarta, on Thursday. Emir stated that the group ticket promotion applies with a minimum of 20 people per purchase. Ticket bookings can be made online through the Whoosh Group Reservation WhatsApp service by chatting at 0813-4000-2920 on weekdays from 09:00 to 17:00 WIB. Bookers will be asked to fill in travel plan details such as date, route, departure time, and number of passengers. After checking availability, the KCIC team will arrange seating for the group. Bookers will also be required to submit passenger data for those departing. To facilitate bookers, payments can be made via transfer or debit at the Halim Station ticket counter. “For groups, we still provide them and they are dominated by family passengers, not groups. Usually, groups are on weekdays for office groups or tourists,” he said. In addition, KCIC is collaborating with various sales partners such as Bank Mandiri, Traveloka, Tiket.com, and Trip.com, offering discounts of up to Rp100,000 and Rp150,000. PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded an increase in Whoosh passenger volume of around 11.3 per cent, reaching 224,827 passengers during the 2026 Lebaran travel period from 13-25 March. This figure is higher than the same period in 2025, which reached 202,007 passengers. The temporary peak of the 2026 Lebaran travel occurred on Tuesday (24/3) with a volume of 24,315 passengers in one day. KCIC provides flexibility for passengers who wish to reschedule up to 15 minutes after the departure time. Then, the refund opportunity is up to two hours before departure. The Whoosh high-speed train is Indonesia’s and Southeast Asia’s first high-speed rail operating at speeds of up to 350 km/h, serving the Jakarta-Bandung route with four main stations: Halim, Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar Summarecon.
