KCIC: Kite Incidents Along Whoosh Line Down 65 Per Cent
Bandung (ANTARA) – PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded a roughly 65 per cent fall in the number of incidents involving kites becoming caught near the Whoosh high-speed railway in September 2026, compared with the average from June to August 2026.
KCIC General Manager for Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said there were 26 such incidents in September, while the average for the previous three months was about 75 per month.
“KCIC would like to thank and express its appreciation to members of the public who have helped safeguard the Whoosh line. The decline in incidents is a positive development,” Eva said in Bandung on Thursday.
She said public support and concern were important to keeping Whoosh services safe, smooth and reliable.
KCIC is continuing to strengthen preventive measures by deploying more than 530 security personnel at stations and along the Whoosh route.
“Officers patrol around the clock, with surveillance divided into 500-metre sections, and monitor and respond to any kite-flying activity found near the line,” she said.
