A video circulating online shows the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train Whoosh temporarily halting on the elevated track at Kopo. KCIC has provided an explanation regarding this video.

PT KCIC Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa stated that the Whoosh train’s stoppage at KM 126+383 near the Kopo area occurred on Friday (3/4). She mentioned that several foreign objects were carried by the wind onto the Whoosh track during extreme weather conditions.

“This incident happened last Friday during extreme weather in the Bandung area, where several foreign objects were blown by the wind onto the Whoosh track, necessitating the sterilisation of the line,” Eva told reporters on Sunday (5/4/2026).

Eva said that train G1046 from Tegalluar Summarecon to Halim was halted at 4:45 PM. She noted that the Whoosh sensor system had detected the presence of the foreign objects.

“To ensure the safety of the journey due to the handling of foreign objects entering the track because of extreme weather. Previously, the sensor system had detected the presence of those objects, allowing anticipation and no danger to the journey,” she said.

Eva stated that the handling of the issue was completed at 4:48 PM. The Whoosh resumed operations at 4:49 PM normally without significant delays.

“There was something like a small sheet of metal, perhaps from a roof, as there was information about a tornado in some areas. But the track was not affected,” Eva said.

“The handling was completed at 4:48 PM and at 4:49 PM the train continued its journey. Whoosh operations remain safe and running normally without significant delays,” she added.
