KCIC Ensures Whoosh High-Speed Train Services are Disability-Friendly During 2026 Eid al-Fitr Travel Period

PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has ensured that Whoosh high-speed train services continue to be friendly to passengers with disabilities and the elderly during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr transportation period.

KCIC Corporate Communication Manager, Emir Monti, stated that all Whoosh stations are designed with high accessibility. “From the start, the stations have been very disability-friendly. Every point is equipped with lifts up to the platform,” he said at KCIC Halim Station, East Jakarta, on Thursday (26/3/2026).

KCIC provides special wider entrance gates to allow easy passage for wheelchairs, priority seats, wheelchair storage racks, and dedicated toilets. Other facilities include regular and VIP waiting rooms, health posts, security posts, information posts, children’s play areas, baby rooms, prayer rooms, escalators, and free WiFi.

“Facilities for people with disabilities and the elderly are already quite complete,” said Emir. KCIC also plans to add more VIP waiting rooms to accommodate the increasing number of First Class and Business Class passengers.

During the Eid al-Fitr transportation period from 13–25 March 2026, Whoosh’s passenger volume reached 224,827 people, an increase of 11.3 percent compared to the same period in 2025, which was 202,007 passengers. The temporary peak occurred on Tuesday (24/3) with 24,315 passengers in one day.

KCIC offers conveniences for passengers, including rescheduling up to 15 minutes after the departure schedule and refunds up to two hours before departure.

For security, KCIC has prepared more than 1,700 CCTV cameras and lost and found lockers. The most commonly left-behind items are water bottles (tumblers) and tote bags or goodie bags. Passengers who lose items can contact the call centre at 0811-8888-111 or report directly to station staff.

KCIC also offers attractive promotions during the Eid period, including a 20 percent discount for group tickets (minimum 20 people) and up to 40 percent discount through subscription cards. Group bookings can be made via WhatsApp Whoosh Group Reservation at 0813-4000-2920 on weekdays from 09.00–17.00 WIB. Additionally, partnerships with partners such as Bank Mandiri, Traveloka, Tiket.com, and Trip.com provide discounts of up to Rp150,000.

The Whoosh high-speed train is Indonesia’s and Southeast Asia’s first high-speed rail serving the Jakarta–Bandung route at speeds of up to 350 km/h. The train stops at four main stations: Halim, Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar Summarecon.
