Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has ensured that services for passengers with disabilities are guaranteed during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return flows for safety and comfort during the journey.

“From the start, the stations were designed to be very disability-friendly. So all points have lifts up to the platform,” said KCIC Corporate Communication Manager, Emir Monti, at the KCIC Station in East Jakarta on Thursday.

Emir stated that they provide special wide entrance gates so that wheelchairs can pass easily. Then, there are also special seats designed for wheelchair users, wheelchair storage racks, and special toilets.

“So the facilities for the disabled and the elderly are quite complete,” he said.

Not only that, KCIC provides a variety of facilities ranging from regular and VIP waiting rooms, health posts, security posts, information posts, children’s play areas, baby rooms, prayer rooms, lifts, escalators, and free WiFi for passengers.

In the future, they will also add VIP rooms considering the high demand. “We are preparing additional VIP waiting rooms to accommodate the increasing number of First Class and Business Class passengers,” he said.

This figure increased compared to the same period in 2025, which reached 202,007 passengers. Then, the temporary peak of the 2026 Eid Transportation occurred on Tuesday (24/3) with a volume of 24,315 passengers in one day.

KCIC provides convenience for passengers who want to reschedule with a maximum of 15 minutes after the departure schedule. Then, the opportunity for refunds is a maximum of two hours before departure.

The Whoosh High-Speed Train is Indonesia’s and Southeast Asia’s first high-speed train operating at speeds of up to 350 km/h and serving the Jakarta-Bandung route with four main stations: Halim, Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar Summarecon. KCIC is committed to providing safe, fast, and reliable transportation services for the community.
