Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has stated that the Eid return journey with the Whoosh train is supported by various integrated monitoring systems and safety technologies.

General Manager of Corporate Secretary at KCIC, Eva Chairunisa, said that to maintain operational safety, KCIC operates 1,773 surveillance camera units, or CCTV.

“These CCTVs are spread across stations, operational tracks, depots, and even inside the train carriages to monitor operational conditions in real time,” Eva told ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.

In addition, she continued, the Whoosh route is equipped with various sensors and early warning systems that function to monitor environmental conditions and potential operational disruptions.

The system consists of 17 strong wind sensors, eight rain sensors, six foreign object sensors, and seven earthquake early warning systems installed at various points along the Jakarta-Bandung route.

KCIC also anticipates potential natural disaster risks along the operational route, such as sedimentation at six points, flood potential at eight points, and landslide potential at 22 points.

To ensure travel safety remains maintained, KCIC stations 24-hour personnel at various points to conduct periodic track condition monitoring and quick handling if potential operational disruptions are found.

There are also children’s play areas, prayer rooms, facilities for passengers with special needs, food and beverage stalls, parking areas, ATMs, luggage storage lockers, and massage chairs available.

KCIC provides a total of 653,888 tickets through the Whoosh train service, which operates up to 62 trips per day to accommodate public mobility during the 2026 Eid period.

Eva stated that these preparations are carried out to ensure that Whoosh journeys during the Eid transportation period run safely, comfortably, and smoothly.

“As of 14 March 2026 yesterday, the Whoosh train has been increased back to 62 trips per day,” she said.

The Whoosh Eid transportation period lasts for 18 days, from 13 to 30 March 2026.

As of Monday (16/3) at 21.00 WIB, the total Whoosh tickets sold reached 133,000 tickets for the travel period from 13 March to 30 March 2026.
