JAKARTA – KCIC has condemned the actions of a passenger who held open the doors of the Whoosh high-speed train at Padalarang Station on Tuesday (7/4/2026) on the Padalarang–Halim route. KCIC Corporate Secretary General Manager Eva Chairunisa stated that the passenger held the train doors, which had already begun closing, upon realising that some of their belongings had been left on the platform.

“That action disrupted the sensor on the automatic door opening and closing system on the train,” Eva said in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026).

Eva explained that the incident caused a delay to the Whoosh journey, with the scheduled departure at 07.23 WIB only occurring at 07.25 WIB. Eva stressed that such actions are unjustifiable under any circumstances.

“We condemn the passenger’s action of holding the train doors, as besides violating the rules, it also has the potential to damage facilities and adversely impact hundreds of other passengers due to departure delays,” Eva asserted.

She explained that each Whoosh train set is equipped with an automatic door system that is a crucial part of journey safety. She noted that forcibly holding the doors causes the automatic closing system to malfunction and poses a risk of long-term facility damage.
